Pieces of Australia is committed to leaving a positive impact on the world by committing to protect land from being disturbed by construction, sporting, driving or other similar activities. To help Australian bushland/rainforest regeneration which is subject to bushfires, flooding, droughts and severe storms, we donate to plant a minimum of 2 trees per square metre of land sold to help regenerate at-risk areas. This is done through our partner ReForest Now.
Our visions align with the view of protecting, conserving and regenerating vulnerable rainforests & ecosystems. The transparency & visibility that ReForest Now offers is another key reason we’ve partnered with them. In a world where everyone seems to be contributing to the environment, there is often a lack of clarity about where & what is being done.
ReForest now takes the complex world of reforestation and conservation and breaks it down into digestible deliverables: visually, financially and from a reporting standpoint (and of course in areas that need it the most).
ReForest Now are a not-for-profit that specialise in rainforest regeneration. Offering a full suite of expertise to promote & generate ecosystem growth, they have a rainforest nursery where they grow over 130.000 trees a year, participate in tree planting, rainforest regeneration, maintenance and more.
The sites they work on are situated in northern NSW, an area which was once part of the Big Scrub, Australia’s largest expanse of subtropical rainforest, of which barely 1% remains due to land clearing & development.
Check out their website & projects to see their progress below.
ReForest Now’s mission is large-scale reforestation and regeneration of Australian rainforest ecosystems. Their team of scientists, bush regenerators and nursery people are working with partners and individuals around the world to see immediate and effective restoration of critically endangered rainforest.
